July 9, 2008 | LISLE, IL The DuPage Dragons will join with WBIG 1280 AM to help the American Cancer Society when the Dragons take on the Springfield Sliders on Friday, July 11th, at 7:05 pm at the Lisle Sports Complex at Benedictine University. For every $6 ticket purchased in advanced, the dragons will donate half of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. The American Cancer Society was founded in 1913 as the American Society for the Control of Cancer (ASCC) by 15 prominent physicians and business leaders in New York City. With chartered divisions throughout the country and over 3,400 local offices, the American Cancer Society (ACS) is committed to fighting cancer through balanced programs of research, education, patient service, advocacy, and rehabilitation. The goal of the ACS is to prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish suffering from cancer.
The DuPage Dragons begin a four-game road trip tonight, July 2nd, when they take on the Springfield Sliders at 7:05 pm. The Dragons next home game is Monday, July 7th, when they take on the Quincy Gems at 7:05 pm at the Lisle Sports Complex at Benedictine University. Tickets start at $6 with kids five and under admitted free. Group rates are available by calling the Dragons’ ticket office at 630-241-2255.
