July 15, 2008 | LISLE, IL The Central Illinois Collegiate League announced the Week #5 Player of the Week honors. DuPage Dragons Kevin Tokarski and Jordan Tokarz were selected by the league for their hitting efforts from last week. In 8 games, the Dragons scored a whopping total of 49 runs, going 4-2 for the week.
Tokarski led the league in hitting at .476 (10-21), tied for the lead in hits with 10, tied in total bases with 14, led in triples with 2, was 2nd in slugging at .667, tied for 3rd in runs with 6, and 3rd in on-base percentage at .520. A R/R infielder, Kevin hails from Downers Grove, Illinois, and will be a sophomore this fall at Illinois State University.
Jordan Tokarz won a share of this week's honor by finishing 2nd in batting at .450 (9-20), leading in slugging at .700, tying for the lead in total bases with 14, tying for 3rd in hits with 9 and tying for 5th in RBI with 5. Also a R/R infielder, Tokarz is from Naperville, Illinois, and will be a senior this fall at Eastern Illinois University.
The DuPage Dragons will return home on Saturday, July 19th for a double header with the Springfield Sliders. First pitch will be for 6:30pm at the Lisle Sports Complex.
