July 11, 2008 | LISLE, IL The DuPage Dragons will support Habitat for Humanity when they take on the Dubois Bombers on Friday, July 11th, at 7:05 pm at the Lisle Sports Complex at Benedictine University. In addition, in helping to support the organization, for every $6 ticket purchased, the Dragons will donate half of the proceeds to the DuPage Habitat for Humanity (DHFH). Tickets can be purchased through the Dragons or by contacting DHFH.
DHFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. The association serves DuPage County, Illinois and works in partnership with people in need to build modest and affordable housing. Their vision statement is "to make DuPage County a better place to live by building community." The mission statement of the DHFH is to provide opportunities for home ownership to limited income families or individuals, and to put the reality of substandard housing in the minds and hearts of DuPage residents in such a powerful way that unattainable home ownership for these families or individuals becomes politically, socially and religiously unacceptable.
The Dragons begin a three-game weekend homestand when they take on the Bombers on Friday night. Tickets start at $6 with kids five and under admitted free. Group rates are available by calling the Dragons’ ticket office at 630-241-2255.
