June 7th, 2009, Lisle, IL -The Dupage Dragons lost their second straight game to the Qunicy Gems Sunday night, by a score of 9-5. Too many hits off starting pitcher Taylor Dennis sank the Dragons right away, and brought back memories of the previous night’s loss to the Gems. Dennis allowed nine hits over 5.1 innings, while only striking out one, and walking two. Five earned runs were charged to Dennis, but it was reliever Tom Zelasko who was charged with the loss.
Cole Tyrell's continued strong hitting led an explosive Dragons offense, that totaled five runs off nine hits, but it was not enough as careless defense, and the lack of effective pitching once again doomed the Dragons.
As the Dragons come back to Chicagoland for their home opener, they'll look to sharpen their play. The Springfield Sliders will roll into town, while the Dragons look to improve their record above .500.
The Dragons next game is slated for 7:05 pm on Wednesday June 10th against the Danville Dans. Tickets are available by calling the Dragons’ ticket office at 630-241-2255 or by purchasing online at www.dupagedragons.com.
