May 30, 2008 | LISLE, IL The Dragons are pleased to announce the signing of a pair of Flames from the University of Illinois at Chicago left fielder/first baseman Jake Carr and left-handed pitcher Eric Wyman.
Carr, a Frankfort native, batted .330 with 22 extra-base hits as a junior to help the Flames to their seventh straight Horizon League regular season title. Last year, he hit .306 and launched six home runs on the way to an All-Horizon League Second Team selection.
Wyman, a West Chicago High School alumnus, posted a 4.37 ERA over 22.2
innings pitched in his freshman season at UIC. He was an All-DuPage Valley Conference selection last season at West Chicago after posting a 2.60 ERA with 76 strikeouts.
