May 26th, 2009 | Lisle, IL Dragons’ fans have become accustomed to outfielder Dave Reynolds’s ability to come through in the clutch. They should be, as he was a mainstay in the Dragons lineup for most of the 2008 season, regardless of which position he played. He also has been “Mr. Reliable” for Northern Illinois in multiple ways, as well. Dave started in 52 of the Huskies 53 games this season, the most out of any Huskie. At the plate, he had the second highest batting average (.361), and consistently came through with runners in scoring position as he was tied with the team lead in RBI’s with 46. He was dependable in the field as well, with a .989 fielding percentage as an outfielder.
On the mound, the south paw slinger started against some of the Huskie’s toughest opponents, which include Northwestern and Toledo. He was also amongst the team leaders in innings pitched, with 37.2 on the year. Dave is expected to start in the outfield for the Dragons, and possibly pitch a little as well. Regardless of the situation, you can always count on Dave Reynolds.
The Dragons home opener is slated for 7:05 pm on Tuesday, June 9th against the defending champion Springfield Sliders. Tickets are available by calling the Dragons’ ticket office at 630-241-2255 or by purchasing online at www.dupagedragons.com.
